Welcome to the Neural Engineering Vision Laboratory (NEVL). We apply the tools and techniques of neural engineering to problems in ophthalmology and vision science. Our group is primarily interested in developing new tools for research, diagnosis, and treatment of retinal diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, diabetic retinopathy and retinal ischemia. The methods we use include electrophysiology, modeling, instrumentation design and microfabrication. We collaborate with several laboratories including those in other departments at UIC, other Chicago institutions, and universities across the country.

Opportunities: We are always looking for talented and motivated students. Potential students interested in neural engineering and vision science, email the lab PI to discuss available positions and projects.
